The Paradise Redevelopment
Agency offers a number of business assistance programs that are based
on a public/private partnership approach to revitalizing our Downtown
and greater Redevelopment Project Area.
These programs have already helped local businesses
relocate into our Downtown, to expand their businesses, as well as help
local entrepreneurs start new businesses.
What follows is a brief summary of the business
assistance programs we offer. If you are interested in learning more

The applicant must be a new business locating in
the Downtown and/or RDA Project Area.
The applicant must have developed a business plan
(SCORE or SBDC will provide you with free assistance).
The program offers a 2:1 matching grant (private to public monies) up to $
10,000
The program's matching grant can be spent on
technology purchases or upgrades, manufacturing and/or production
equipment, furnishings or product displays and shelving.
The Start-Up Business Application program can be accessed here,
picked up at Town Hall, or mailed to you on request.
The
applicant must be an existing business intending to relocate in the
Downtown and/or RDA Project Area.
The
applicant must have an updated business plan (SCORE or SBDC will
provide you will free assistance to help you to develop a business plan
or to update your existing one.)
The
applicant's relocation must demonstrate a significant net gain to our
local economy in terms of product lines, services, number of employees,
etc.
The program offers a 2:1 matching grant (private to public monies) up to $10,000.
The
program's matching grant/loan assistance can be spent on building code,
permit & development fees, ADA compliance and pedestrian access
improvements, relocation expenses, septic system improvement and
upgrades and parking improvements.
The Business Relocation/Recruitment application for this program can be accessed here, picked up at Town Hall or mailed to you on request.
The
applicant must be an existing or newly relocated business to the
Downtown and/or greater RDA Project Area.
The
applicant must have a business plan (SCORE or SBDC will provide you
with free assistance to help you develop a business plan or to update
your existing one).
The
applicant's business expansion must demonstrate a significant net gain
to our local economy in terms of actual building site and facilities,
business product lines, inventory or services, and/or number of
employees employed on a full or part-time basis.
The program offers a 2:1 matching grant (private to public monies) up to $10,000.
The
program's matching grant can be spent on relocation for
business expansion, property acquisition, building demolition, septic
system upgrades, improvements to customer parking, establishment of
rear customer entrances & ADA compliance.

*Please note that some forms
RDA business assistance might be subject to prevailing wage.
The property must be commercially zoned and must be located within the Downtown and/or greater RDA project area.
The Commercial Facade Program only applies to the renovation of existing commercial facades and is not intended for new construction.
The applicant's business expansion must demonstrate a significant net gain to our local economy in terms of actual building site and facilities, business product lines, inventory or services, and/or number of employees employed on a full or part-time basis.
The program offers two funding options: a Minor Facade Grant is a 1:3 matching grant (private to public monies) up to $2,500, and a Major Facade is a 1:1 matching loan/grant combination (private to public monies) up to $15,000 ($5,000 loan and $10,000 grant).
The program's matching grant/loan assistance can be spent on awnings, business signage, exterior lighting, exterior paint, exterior windows & doors, landscaping, removal of architectural barriers, repair/replacement of exterior siding treatments.
The Commercial Facade application for this program can be accessed

The applicant must be the property owner or
have the property owner's written permission to remove and/or replace
existing signage.
The applicant must be the owner of the
business, and the property must be located in the Redevelopment Project
Area.
The program offers two funding options: a
non-conforming sign replacement assistance grant up to $75 for an
initial design consultation and a 50% matching grant up to $2,500 for
the new, conforming sign, as well as a non-conforming pole replacement
grant (up to $1,000) for the removal of the non-conforming pole and pole
sign in combination with a 75% matching grant for replacement of a new,
conforming sign (up to $4,000).
The program's matching grant can be spent on
replacement of non-conforming signage with conforming signage, removal
of non-conforming pole and pole sign, required compliance with Town
signage ordinance.
