kennel assistants, 2 full time animal control officers, 1 part-time
animal control officer and one part-time office assistant.
Animal Control enforcement started in 1984. The Town of
Paradise is the only animal control agency in the County that maintains
its own shelter and field operations.
The Animal Control Officers
provide service to residents of the Town of Paradise only.
Major emphasis is for the safety of all persons and animals within the
Town limits.
The Shelter has facilities for dogs and
cats. You will also find an occasional pot-bellied pig, goat,
iguana and sometimes an Emu, to name a few.
Animal Control Services include pet
adoptions,
bite investigations, cruelty investigations,
noise complaints, stray dogs, injured animals, livestock or
wildlife problems, and rabies control. The Town Animal Shelter Animal Control
officers also patrol problem areas in the Town, as well as providing
educational programs for schools and organizations. The
Officers are responsible for enforcement of local and state ordinances
regarding animals.
