You're probably wondering how someone could just visit  Paradise.  If you visited, wouldn't you want to stay?  Well, the answer is yes, but for our friends who don't yet have that option, the community still holds a lot in store.  Whether you are here for a couple of hours or a couple of days, you can find your Paradise here.

Are we there yet?  Paradise is a short drive from the Bay Area and Sacramento.  The drive isn't too bad, either.  You will move along the valley floor through orchards and past roadside fruit stands.  As you near Paradise, you will climb from the valley floor, past the oaks and into the pines.  The contrast is breathtaking.

A unique springtime event presents itself when 90,000 daffodils come into bloom in the Town of Paradise.  In the spring of 2008, Paradise Garden Club, Inc. planned a community beautification project with a goal of planting 3,000 daffodil bulbs.  After our community experienced devastating wildland fires during the spring and summer of 2008, the Garden Club's project blossomed into a town-wide effort to deliver a message of hope: “To Plant a Garden Is To Believe in Tomorrow.” Click here for “the rest of the story.” http://daffodilsacrosstheridge.shutterfly.com/ and for a map of daffodil sites.  Click here for information on other daffodil vistas in northern California.  http://daffodil.org/ncds/dafvistas.htm.  Depending upon the weather, which can cause either an early or delayed blooming period, daffodils are usually in full bloom in mid-March. The bloom period can last for up to six weeks as there are early, mid and late season daffodils in the gardens.

What do you want to do?  Well, let's see, there is Gold Nugget Days in April, the Paradise Chocolate Festival in May, and Johnny Appleseed Days in October.  There are Cruisin' Weekend  car shows, Juke Box Saturday Night at the Paradise Performing Arts Center, and the Thursday night Farmer's Market.  Still more awaits you at the museums, along the trails, and in the parks.  Check the Paradise Chamber of Commerce Calendar of Events for details.
