2010-2015 CDBG Consolidated Plan - Public Input Needed

2010-2015 Consolidated Plan and 2010-2011 Annual Plan Update:

DRAFT Consolidated Plan and Draft Annual Plan now available.

The Town of Paradise receives a Community Development Block Grant under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Town’s Consolidated Plan must be revised every 5 years; the Annual Action Plan is changed each year to reflect new budget appropriations and project allocations.

In accordance with the Housing and Community Development Act (HCDA) of 1987, as amended, the primary objective of the Town of Paradise CDBG Program is the development of a viable urban community, including decent housing, a suitable living environment, and the expansion of economic opportunities, principally for persons of low/moderate income.  To accomplish this objective, activities which 1) benefit low/moderate income persons, 2) aid in the elimination/prevention of slums or blight, 3) meet other urgent community development needs having particular urgency for which no other funds are available, will be given priority.

Public participation is requested.  Please attend one of the public hearings or submit written comments to Lauren Gill, Business & Housing Services, 5555 Skyway, Paradise, CA 95969 or email: lgill@townofparadise.com.

Building - Home Print

The Building Division's Number 1 goal is consumer safety.  Whether you are experinced contractor or a novice owner-builder, the Building Division is charged with ensuring that both the consumer's and the public's health and safety are protected.  This is done by reviewing and approving the project's construction plans, and then by field inspecting the construction.  Construction of any type in the foothills is governed by an ever-changing body of codes and regulations.  Some cover general construction standards, while others address energy conservation, green building technology, and the reality of building and living in a high fire danger environment.  As State and local public safety resources are strained, it becomes even more important for home and business owners to do the most that they can to protect their property from fire and other hazards.  The Building Division is here to assist you in that effort.

A Building Permit is not Required, is a publication that will answer some very basic questions.  The Building Permit Application Checklist provides details on how to successfully prepare and submit construction plans.
