Front Lobby Hours The Police Department is located at 5595 Black Olive Drive, across from the Community Park. The lobby doors are open from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. for front counter services. These services include, vehicle release, cite sign-off, records requests, reporting of crimes, Live Scan fingerprinting, and general information. If the lobby door is locked, there is a white phone outside which rings directly into the Dispatch Communications Center Records The Records section may be contacted at 872-6281. Records requests are made at the front counter between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. with a signed request form. Records are released in accordance with Section 6254 of the Government Code. Any fees must be paid prior to release. Reports are not released the same day at the front counter. The law provides for 10 days to comply with a public records request. Reports must be reviewed to determine if it is eligible to be released to the requestor. For further details, please see the Records Request Form. Dispatch The Dispatch Communications Center is staffed 24-hours per day. In emergencies, please call 9-1-1. In non-emergencies, please call 872-6241. The trained Dispatch staff will assist in obtaining the necessary information in order to classify your call to provide the proper services. Criminal calls are prioritized first and civil disputes are secondary. The officers are dispatched by priority. Every effort is made to advise if there will be a delay in services requested. Vehicle Release Vehicles impounded for traffic violations are released only to the registered owner of the vehicle. The vehicle must be legal to be on the roadway, i.e. current registration, one-day moving permit and a licensed driver. If the registered owner does not have a valid license, they must bring someone with them who has a valid license in order to release the vehicle. Release fees are payable at the Police Department before the vehicle can be released. Towing and storage fees are separate from the Department fees and are payable at the tow company. The fees depend upon the criminal violation for which the vehicle was impounded. Live Scan Live Scan fingerprinting is available by appointment only. Appointments take approximately 30 minutes. Photo identification is required. Fees include a rolling schedule fee to the Town of Paradise, plus additional fees for Department of Justice and FBI. The total amount is calculated at the time of service. Please call 872-6241 to schedule an appointment.
NOTE: For safety reasons, children are not allowed in the area where Live Scan fingerprints are done. Please plan accordingly.
Property & Evidence Property and evidence eligible for release to the identified owner is done by appointment only. Please call 872-6241 to set an appointment. Property & Evidence Building Alarms Town Ordinance 410, Alarm Systems governs alarms for business and residential buildings in the Town of Paradise. The ordinance requires business and residential alarm users to register their alarm system and pay a registration fee. Each alarm user will automatically receive two false alarm responses per year, after which a fee will be assessed based on the number of false alarms per year. False Alarms -- False alarms include negligently or accidentally activated signals, mechanical or electronic failure or malfunction, and signals purposefully activated in non-emergency situations.
