Public Works - Home Print

In football they call it "in the trenches" - the grind it out hard work that the linemen do week in and week out that protects the golden armed quarterback or opens a hole for the lightning quick running back. In Paradise, our people "in the trenches" are called the Public Works Department.  Although you won't read about them in Sports Illustrated or see them on Sports Center, they are the people that keep the roads safe, the storm water out of your house, and the ice and snow out of the way so that you can drop the kids off at school, get to work on time, swing by the grocery store, or pick up that prescription for grandma. The work is not glamorous, but it is the underpinning of community and commerce.

To ensure the highest quality service to the community, the Public Works Department is divided into 3 divisions - Engineering, Street Maintenance and Public Facilities. The Engineering Division is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of all public works projects in the town. Street Maintenance personnel are engaged in numerous activities, such as road striping, pavement repair, road side vegetation management, and emergency snow removal. Public Facilities involves the management of the Paradise Community Park and the Town’s building facilities.
