Work to Begin for the Trailway Enhancements Project

Starting Tuesday, April 17, Pacific Excavation of Elk Grove, CA will begin work for Trailway Enhancements Project. The 5 mile project is located along the Yellowstone Kelley Heritage Trailway (formerly Memorial Trailway) spans from Pentz Road to south of Neal Road. Construction will include installation of enhanced crosswalks with pedestrian activated flashing beacons, two hundred forty seven (247) new pathway lights and ADA-compliant pedestrian access ramps. This $1.3M grant-funded project will provide safer facilities for bicycling or walking along the pathway.

Construction will continue through July 2018. The trailway, only accessible to pedestrians and bicyclists, has been posted with notices to users informing of intermittent closures. These closures will be enforced on a day-by-day basis only when actual work is being performed on specific trailway segments through town. Motorists can expect minimal to no impacts as a result of construction.
