November 8, 2016 General Municipal Election
THREE SEATS ON THE PARADISE TOWN COUNCIL will be decided at the November 8, 2016 General Municipal Election. The successful candidates will each serve a four-year term of office beginning on the first Council Meeting in December 2016 through the first Council Meeting in December, 2020. The 2016 vacancies will occur as a result of the expiration of terms of office for the positions held by Greg Bolin, Steve "Woody" Culleton and John J. Rawlings. The Town of Paradise is consolidated with the state general election. Dina Volenski, Paradise Town Clerk, serves as the election official for the Town of Paradise and issues nomination petitions and files campaign statements and documentation.
NOMINATION PERIOD: The nomination period opens at 8:00 a.m. on July 18, 2016 and closes at 5:00 p.m. on August 12, 2016. Nomination petitions must be issued by the Town Clerk and it is recommended that candidates make an appointment and allow 30 minutes to review the candidate nomination process and necessary documents required. Town Hall will be open from 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016 only for candidate filings. If an incumbent does not file for office, the nomination period will extend for five calendars days, through 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
