Town of Paradise Clarifies Emergency Warning Siren Test Message

PARADISE, Calif. — Earlier today during a scheduled test of the Town of Paradise emergency warning siren system this morning, the broadcast message inadvertently included language indicating that a mandatory evacuation was being called.
There is no evacuation order in effect. The message was part of a routine system test, and the evacuation language was included in error.
Town staff are reviewing the test procedures to ensure future tests clearly communicate that they are only tests and do not include unintended emergency language.
The Town of Paradise apologizes for any confusion the message may have caused and appreciates the community’s understanding as the Town continues to maintain and improve its emergency warning systems.
