Town of Paradise Removes Trees to Address Sidewalk Safety Hazards
July 13, 2026
Paradise, CA. — The Town of Paradise has begun removing trees along Nunneley Road west of Clark Road to address significant sidewalk damage and improve pedestrian safety.
Over time, the trees' root systems have lifted and displaced sidewalk panels, creating trip hazards and reducing accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
The Town has repaired and maintained damaged sidewalk sections for many years. However, continued repairs would now require cutting major tree roots, which could compromise the structural integrity of the trees and create an additional public safety hazard.
After evaluating the condition of both the sidewalks and the trees, the Town determined that removal is the most appropriate long-term solution to eliminate the hazards and restore the sidewalk to current accessibility standards.
Tree removal is being performed under contract by Morgan Tree Service. The Town appreciates the community's patience and understanding while this work is completed.
