CalFire and Paradise Fire Department Patches

Although the Town of Paradise has opted to contract with CAL FIRE for firefighting personnel, we retain and maintain the facilities, equipment and apparatus.

The Town currently has two operating fire stations, and a third operated by CAL FIRE that provides automatic response to emergencies throughout Paradise:

Station 81 at 767 Birch Street
Station 82 at the intersection of South Libby and Pearson Road
Station 35 CAL FIRE station on Forest Service Road

The current minimum staffing for the department is three personnel assigned to each engine.  Typical engine staffing includes a captain, an engineer, and a firefighter.

The Paradise Fire & Rescue maintains a current vehicle fleet which includes two Front Line Engines, two Reserve Engines, one Type 3 Engine, one Ladder Truck, one Type 3 Squad, one Breathing Support trailer, and three staff vehicles.

Station 81 houses the administrative offices of the Fire Chief, Battalion Chief, Fire Prevention Inspector, and Administrative Assistant.

The Operations Division ensures that the Department is staffed and equipped to handle all-risk emergencies throughout Town, and cooperatively to surrounding communities.  We provide emergency medical aid, vehicle accident, rescue, hazardous material, and fire response to the citizens and guests of Paradise.  In order to provide emergency services the division is responsible for ensuring that we are able to purchase and maintain equipment, fire apparatus, communications equipment and other tools of the trade.
