Free In-Home Emergency Siren Units Available at Town Hall for Paradise Residents

February 5, 2026

Paradise, CA — Free in-home Emergency Warning Siren units are now available to Paradise residents to make emergency alerts audible inside homes.  The units are being provided at no cost through funding from a FEMA/Cal OES Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). These units are available to help ensure residents can stay informed and aware of emergency situations while inside their homes.

The in-home devices plug into a standard wall outlet and provide both audible and visual alerts whenever the Town’s emergency warning sirens are activated. A limited number of units are available and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.  Residents do not need to pre-register.

Units can be picked up in person at Paradise Town Hall, 5555 Skyway, Paradise, CA, during normal business hours.

The program is available only to residents with addresses within the Town of Paradise. Those who live outside of town limits are encouraged to contact Butte County for information on other emergency alert options, including Alert FM radios.

Additionally, to help get as many units into residents’ homes as possible, this month’s Emergency Warning Siren (EWS) system test will be moved to Wednesday, February 18 at Noon. This test will also mark the first time the new in-home SAFE units will be tested, giving residents a chance to see and hear how they work. The test will also give staff valuable time to refine and troubleshoot the system well ahead of the upcoming fire season.
