Dixie Fire Update - 7/19/2021 @ 9:20am

According to Cal Fire, there are still no evacuation warnings or evacuation orders for the Town of Paradise.  The Dixie Fire is currently 30,000 acres with 15% containment.  The fire is still moving to the East and North away from Paradise.  Firefighting and air and ground resources will continue to work together to construct direct line to secure the perimeter and to provide structure defense for communities at risk.  The fire is burning in remote areas with limited access and steep terrain.  A portion of HWY 70 is closed to all traffic.

An evacuation Center has been established at the Nazarene Church located at 2238 Monte vista Ave. in Oroville.  A shelter for small animals has been established at Old County Hospital located at 2279 Del Oro and Mono Ste E in Oroville. 

Dixie Fire Update -7/16/2021

There are still no evacuation orders or evacuation warnings for the Town of Paradise. The Dixie Fire is still burning north/ north east away from Paradise. According to Cal Fire, the fire is approximately 8,000 acres with 7% containment. Cal Fire has had success with the multiple air craft on the fire and winds have caused the head of the fire to push back onto itself slowing growth. They are feeling good today about success on the west flank, which is the side closest to Paradise.

Weather conditions will stay much the same for today and tomorrow, with potential for thunderstorms Sunday night into Monday.

The Town will continue to monitor this fire with Cal Fire over the weekend and will update if there are any changes.

Butte County Sheriff's Office has issued an evacuation warning for the Philbrook area. This is in addition to the existing evacuation warning for the Pulga area. Update 10:37am 

There are still no evacuation warnings or evacuation orders for the Town of Paradise. The Town continues to monitor the fire closely in coordination with Cal Fire and our local cooperators.

According to Cal Fire, the Dixie Fire is currently mapped at 2,150 acres and is still burning north/north east with some spotting at the front. There is currently 0% containment. Contingency lines on the western flank are strong and holding. Strong air support has been helpful, with 9 Type 1 Air Tankers on the fire.

The National Weather Service reports the weather will stay very much the same through the weekend with breezy conditions and gusts to 20mph in areas. There will be a slight warming trend after today.

Butte County Sheriff's Office reports no changes to the evacuation warnings in the Pulga area.
