For Immediate Release: Paradise Police Department Launches School Resource Officer to Strengthen School Safety and Community Partnership

Date: August 4, 2025

PARADISE, CA — The Paradise Police Department, in partnership with the Paradise Unified School

District (PUSD), is pleased to announce the launch of its School Resource Officer (SRO) Program. This

collaborative initiative aims to promote a safe and supportive learning environment for students, staff,

and families. While the SRO will primarily serve PUSD campuses, the program is designed to support

schools and youth services across the broader Paradise community.

The program places a dedicated police officer within local school campuses as a consistent,

approachable presence focused on building trust, supporting youth, and fostering positive relationships

between students and law enforcement.

The School Resource Officer will serve as a liaison between the police department and the school

community, helping to strengthen partnerships while being a resource for safety planning and student

well-being.

The Town of Paradise and its Police Department recognize the importance of maintaining a positive

school climate. This program reflects the Town’s commitment to youth development, public safety, and

proactive community policing.

The SRO will be present on campus during the school year and available to assist with school-related

events and activities.
