For Immediate Release: Speed Catches Up With You Campaign
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: SPEED CATCHES UP WITH YOU CAMPAIGN

The Paradise Police Department previously announced our participation in the Speeding Catches Up With You campaign, along with the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) and the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). The purpose of this campaign is to mitigate driving behaviors that contribute to traffic-related fatalities on our Town's roads.
From July 7-31, 2025, Paradise Police Officers, Sergeants, and Administrators conducted a total of 358 traffic enforcement stops in addition to their other responsibilities to the public. These traffic stops have resulted in:

Unlicensed drivers (15)
Out of class drivers (1)
Fail to update address with DMV (2)
Suspended driver's license, non-criminal (1)
Fail to provide insurance (29)
Red light (2)
Construction zone flashing red (8)
Stop sign (2)

Vehicle lighting (10)
Obstructed windows/tint (2)
Broken windshield (3)
Seatbelt (1)
Unregistered vehicle (39)
License plate missing or obstructed (4)
Arrests:
Possession of illegal drugs (8)

Failure to correct previous violations (4)

In total, 21 vehicles have been impounded or stored as a result of these enforcement actions.
There were ten traffic collisions during this time period.
