For Immediate Release: DUI Collision
Date: April 25, 2026
On April 25, 2026, at approximately 7:16 P.M. the Paradise Police Department responded to a single-vehicle traffic collision in the area of Skyway at the Skyway Split, in Paradise, California.
Upon arrival, officers determined that a tow truck operated by Abraham Llamas-Dorrel of Chico was involved in the collision. As a result of the incident, a stop sign was damaged and approximately 100 yards of roadway was covered with diesel, creating a potential hazard for motorists. The diesel spill subsequently contributed to a second single-vehicle collision in the same area.
During the course of the investigation, officers discovered that Llamas-Dorrel had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants issued by the Butte County Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, it was determined that Llamas-Dorrel was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. Llamas-Dorrel was taken into custody without incident and booked on the outstanding warrants, as well as charges related to driving under the influence.
The Town of Paradise Public Works Department responded to the scene and is currently working to clean the diesel from the roadway. Due to the spill and forecasted rain, drivers are advised to use caution and reduce speeds in the area, as conditions may create additional traffic hazards.
The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Paradise Police Department at 530-872-6241.
