Under the residential zoning regulations, certain types of businesses may be conducted from a residence with a Town-approved Home Occupation Permit. To determine if your proposed business will qualify as a Home Occupation, please contact Planning Division Staff.

Vending

Operating a food truck/cart in Paradise requires a vendors license from the Town, a Mobile Food Facility permit from Butte County Environmental Health in Oroville, and a Seller’s Permit from the State.

 The Town does fixed-location vending on properties that are zoned Community Commercial (CC) or Neighborhood Commercial (NC), and mobile vending (PMC 5.11).Properties that do not contain fire debris are eligible for food truck vending. You can verify the zoning of a property here, properties highlighted pink are commercially designated.  The areas of Skyway and Almond St between Pearson and Elliott Rd are zoned Central Business and  permitted for food trucks if the vendor's commissary or brick and mortar restaurant is in the Downtown area (will be colored red on the zoning map).

To apply for a vending license from the Town of Paradise you will need the following paperwork, Renewals can be applied for online with Accela Citizens Access

  • Completed vendors license application 
  • Letter of authorization from the land owner (may be different than the business owner);
  • Copy of your seller’s permit from the State Dept of Tax & Fee Administration;
  • Proof of Garbage service on site
  • Copy of your mobile food facility inspection report, or Permit To Operate, from Butte County Environmental Health; and
  • Payment of vending license fees  (1st Year: $141.28 (prorated if applied after January), Renewal : $80.92)
