For Immediate Release: Arrest Made in Child Exploitation Investigation
Date: June 8, 2026
On April 22, 2026, the Paradise Police Department was contacted by a concerned citizen reporting an
adult male was engaged in electronic communications with a juvenile female.
The citizen provided evidence to investigators indicating Javier Coronabarriga, a resident of Butte County,
had sent sexually explicit material to an underage girl. During the investigation Officers learned
Coronabarriga had attempted contact with who he believed to be a minor for the purpose to commit a
sexual offense.
Following an investigation, on June 8, 2026, Paradise Police Department officers arrested Coronabarriga
for the following charges:
• 288.2(a)(1) PC – Sending harmful matter with intent to seduce a minor
• 288.3(a) PC – Contact with a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense
Coronabarriga was booked into the Butte County Jail with bail set at $125,000.
