For Immediate Release: Major Injury Traffic Collision

On March 6, 2026, at approximately 2:40 PM, the Paradise Police Department began receiving multiple 911 calls regarding a large traffic collision on the 7400 block of Skyway. Paradise Police Officers, along with Cal Fire personnel, and Butte EMS medics responded to the scene.

The initial investigation, supported by statements from involved parties, independent witnesses, and the physical evidence at the scene showed the driver of a Toyota sedan exited the parking lot of a local auto parts store. The Toyota attempted to cross Skyway’s two northbound lanes but did not yield to oncoming traffic. The Toyota was subsequently struck, in the driver’s door, by a large Chevrolet SUV.

The driver of the Toyota sustained multiple significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. A passenger in the Chevrolet received medical treatment on scene for minor injuries.

The southbound lanes of Skyway were closed for approximately one hour while medical treatment was administered and Officers investigated the incident.
Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this incident.
