For Immediate Release: Paradise High School Lock Down
On 09/08/2025, Paradise High School was placed on lockdown after the School Resource Officer (SRO) was notified that a student on campus was wanted in connection with several serious felony charges. Information was also received that the student might be armed with a handgun.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Paradise Police Department immediately deployed multiple officers to the school. Once it was confirmed that the student in question was on campus, school officials initiated a lockdown at the request of the Paradise Police Department, to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
Officers located the student in a classroom and safely took the individual into custody without incident. No students or staff were harmed during the event, and no firearm was located on school grounds.
The lockdown was lifted following the student’s arrest, and normal school operations have resumed.
The Paradise Police Department is continuing to work with school officials and will provide updates as appropriate.
